Full Metal Jacket (FMJ)
Full metal jacket rounds act as your standard factory-produced ammunition, not specializing in any area in particular but provide a well-rounded effect without sacrificing damage or armor-piercing capabilities. Readily available at most vendors in any major settlement, and the cheapest relative to the other classes of ammunition.
Hollow Point (HP)
Hollowpoint rounds specialize in that they have higher minimum and maximum damage capabilities than their FMJ counterparts, however at the expense of lower armor-piercing capability. They are best used when fighting against monster NPC or player characters who low armor ratings. Readily available at most vendors in any major settlement, and generally more expensive relative to the other classes of ammunition.
Armor Piercing (AP)
Armor-piercing rounds exceed in their ability to bypass enemy armor much more easily than their FMJ counterparts, however at the expense of lower minimum and maximum damage capabilities. They are the best used when fighting heavily armored monster NPC and in late-game when used against players with faction armor. Readily available at most vendors in any major settlement and is generally a little more expensive relative to FMJ rounds.
Extra Rounds[]
Extra rounds have statistics similar to their FMJ counterparts, however, modifications to the material used allow the round to travel in a much straighter path, reducing the need to compensate for bullet drop at longer distances and travel at a higher velocity. Readily available at most vendors in any major settlement, and the most expensive relative to the other classes of ammunition.

Crafted (M1) and Airdrop (S1) Rounds
Crafted/airdrop rounds improve on the overall abilities of the FMJ round in that they have an increase in minimum and maximum damage, as well as armor-piercing capabilities. However, crafted rounds can be obtained through means of crafting or commission store, whereas airdrop rounds can be obtained from airdrops. Both types may also be obtained by direct trading with other players, however neither type is sold by any NPC vendors in any settlement. These rounds are best used when using them against other players who have high armor ratings and bosses alike.
Shotgun Shells & Misc
This classifies the remaining ammunition in-game that doesn't fit into any of the aforementioned categories. The 12Ga. Shots can deal a much higher overall damage, at the expense of range and accuracy due to the shell firing multiple pellets, and this type of ammunition is highly effective against monster NPC. The 12Ga. Slugs, on the other hand, can shoot much farther when compared to shots, and much more accurately due to the round firing a single projectile, however having higher armor-piercing capabilities means that the slug deals lower overall damage when compared to shots, and are mostly used when fighting against other players.
Note
- The G43 Series refers to a class of 43mm shells used in the GL-43 Grenade Launcher. The number designation corresponds to the effect observed by each shell: 100 explodes on impact, 200 is a delayed explosion with a 3-4 second timer, 300 launches fireworks also doubling as a flare, and 400 is a toxic gas grenade.
